History
The Community Foundation of Ardmore was established following a generous gift bequeathed by Dr. J. Hoyle Carlock, Jr., an Ardmore surgeon and philanthropist. Dr. Carlock’s wishes were that the funds be used to support charitable projects benefitting the residents of Carter County and the surrounding counties. An independent Board of Trustees continues to carry out that work today.
Since 2001, the Community Foundation of Ardmore has provided more than $10.6 million in grant funding to nonprofit organizations located in southern Oklahoma. We continue to fulfill the intent of our original donor by supporting projects in the areas of youth development, social services, civic improvements, cultural enhancement, health services, and education.
